Are All Carbs Bad?

Our bodies NEED carbohydrates to function. Determining what is a ‘good’ or ‘bad’ carb depends on the food’s nutrient content and the speed at which our bodies absorb them.

Complex (a.k.a. ‘Good’) Carbs: Vegetables and whole grains provide fiber and an abundance of nutrients that are slowly absorbed and fuel our bodies with sustained energy.

Simple (a.k.a. ‘Bad’) Carbs: Refined grains, processed foods, and added sugar have little nutrient content and are absorbed too quickly into the blood, leaving us feeling sluggish.
