Spotlight: Emily Duval

ACI Specialty Benefits welcomes Emily Duval as a Licensed Clinical Consultant, LPCC. With nearly 20 years of experience as a counselor, Duval is a licensed clinician in California and an accredited psychotherapist in the United Kingdom. An integrative-systems therapist working with adults, Duval is a dedicated suicide postvention expert, specializing in the subject of complex grief after suicide for individuals and groups.

Duval has worked in the EAP industry, university settings and private practices, as well as for the National Health Service, developing her experience as a critical incident responder, keynote speaker, group facilitator, workshop trainer and published co-author.

More than thirteen years after completing her Master’s in Psychology, Duval began working on a PsyD from CSPP/Alliant University in Organizational Development. Her focus is on integrating the clinician experience with organizational psychology for improving workplace resilience, adjusting culture, reducing stigma and fortifying leadership with training in compassionate response following a suicide or sudden death.

Duval enjoys walking her dog, writing, quoting Columbo episodes, eating delicious cheese and following her favorite NBA team, the Golden State Warriors.
