ACI’s Gilbert Manzano Selected to Speak at the 2020 CPHCC Conference

ACI is proud to have Gilbert Manzano speaking at the 2020 CPHCC Conference held at the San Diego Paradise Point Resort from January 14-16, 2020. Gil will be presenting with the panel on “Removing the Stigma of Mental Illness.”

Mental illness has a long history of being stigmatized in societies around the globe. And even though treatment of mental illness has come a long way, there is still a strong social stigma attached to it. Negative attitudes and beliefs toward people who have a mental health condition are common and many people’s problems are made worse by the stigma and discrimination they experience – from society, but also from families, friends and employers. This can sometimes make their difficulties worse and make it harder to cope.

Gil’s panel will teach attendees how to recognize, deal with, and help remove the negative stigma associated with mental illness.
