Wellness Challenge Spotlight: Amanda Rodgers

Things are continuing to heat up on the second week of ACI’s CORE Wellness Challenge. With everyone studying hard for weekly wellness quizzes and trying to decide who’s meal is the healthiest at lunch, It’s clear that the competition is getting fierce—but it’s still too soon to tell which team will prove themselves as the ultimate wellness warriors.

ACI Executive Assistant Amanda Rodgers stops to pose for a quick shot at the ACI All-Employee Town Hall Meeting

We sat down with Executive Assistant Amanda Rodgers to inquire about her own personal thoughts and aspirations regarding the CORE Wellness Challenge:

ACI: What are you most excited about?

AR: I am most excited about the challenge because it gives me motivation to do what I have been trying to push myself to do for months. It’s nice to have an entire office of people supporting each other. And while there is competition between teams, I think we all want each employee to be successful!

ACI: Why did you join the CORE Wellness challenge?

AR:The timing of ACI’s wellness challenge was perfect for me. I am getting married in five weeks so it’s crunch time! I joined this challenge because the team aspect of it seemed motivating and exciting.  I have been saying, “I’ll start working out this week…” for about six months. This challenge has already helped drastically!

ACI: What’s your favorite part of CORE Wellness Online so far?

AR: It’s nice being able to track my weight loss, water, fruit and vegetable intake. If I have to record my workouts, it helps me stay motivated. When my points are low, it makes me want to go work out even more!

ACI: Toughest part of week 1?

AR: Giving up sweets. I struggled a little but definitely cut way back. I also tried to stop eating late at night and that was a little difficult, especially over the weekend.

ACI: In your opinion—who does the award for ‘most team spirit’ go to so far?

AR: Our CEO Dr. Ann Clark–not only was her first week of weight loss impressive but she is the one who has allowed us to have this awesome opportunity. It is nice to have someone who is not just supporting but also participating in the challenge.
