5 Essential Smartphone Apps for the Modern Mom

For working moms, the week can feel like a blur of conference calls, car trips, last-minute meals and sleepless nights. From fulfilling demands at work to remembering to pick up a gallon of milk on the way home, the to-do list is often overwhelming. Fortunately, there’s a smartphone app for practically everything. With the right apps, moms on the go can pay bills, buy clothes, manage schedules, write emails and even run errands.

ACI President and mother of two, Erin Krehbiel, says that using apps to manage everyday tasks has become the new normal in the parenting world. From time management to kid-friendly games, Krehbiel shares a few of her favorite apps.

  1. Amazon Alexa: Krehbiel loves the ability to manage a smart home from a phone. From planning a shopping list and playing music during chores, to important alarms and an intercom to communicate with kids in the other room, this app is the best helper for moms.
  2. Print Studio: Busy moms might not always have the time to transfer pictures onto a computer. With Print Studio, moms can order photobooks, calendars, magnets, stationary and more, all from the comfort of a cell phone or tablet.
  3. Cozi: A three-time Mom’s Choice Award Winner, Cozi helps family members coordinate shared schedules on their smartphones. The app also helps manage shopping lists, to-do lists, and even includes a family journal.
  4. Shutterfly Share Sites: An oldie but a goodie, this app allows moms to share precious family moments, from class projects and game days to family gathering and vacations.
  5. Heads Up! Kids: Krehbiel loves playing this game with her kids, especially when waiting for a table at a restaurant. It’s a super fun game to play with kids as young as four years old.

Balancing work, play and motherhood is rarely easy, even for the most organized women, but with these five apps, working moms will be better able to keep track of responsibilities and stress a little less.
