5 Tips to Reduce Cancer Risk

1. Don’t use tobacco– Smoking and chew tobacco have been linked to many types of cancer.

2. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and control your weight– Choose foods from plant sources and low in fat. High-fat diets may increase the risk of obesity which can increase cancer risk.

3. Drink alcohol in moderation– The risk of cancer increases with the amount of alcohol you drink and the length of time you’ve been drinking regularly.

4. Increase physical activity– In addition to helping you control your weight; physical activity may lower the risk of breast and colon cancers.

5. Protect yourself from the sun– Always use sunscreen when outdoors. Avoid tanning beds which is just as damaging as natural sunlight.
