ACI Employees Get Their ‘Kicks’ in the Community

It’s just after 8 p.m. on a Thursday night, and standing on the edge of the damp, green softball field are the stars of ACI’s “Too Legit to Kick” kickball team circled together engaging in a group stretch.

ACI Wellness Specialist Katlin Donaghue shows off her skills at the plate.Joe Hopkins, an ACI Business Development Representative and resident kickball team motivator, leads the team in the warm-up rituals, and other team members gather preparing signs in support of the home team.

“Playing on a sports team with coworkers is not only a fun opportunity, but a great team building experience,” says Team Manager and Corporate Account Manager Chris Ortiz.  “We’ve been able touse really nice parks in the community, and show off our team pride by competing against other business in our area.”

Thursday’s matchup was a foggy, back-and-forth battle between two very competitive teams.  ACI’s “Too Legit to Kick” jumped out to an early lead and was able to hang on to win 7-5 through the cat-like reflexes of 3rd baseman and Administrative Specialist A.J. Pacheco, and a late web-gem by 2nd baseman and Business Development Representative Josh Tiernan.

ACI Business Development Representative Joe Hopkins fires in a first-pitch strike. The “Too Legit to Kick” cheering section was also out in full force.  Monica Saare, Concierge Manager and Team Cheerleader, was a vocal supporter in the stands with shouts of encouragement, team chants, and the occasional friendly heckle.

Come support the team every Thursday night at the Standley Recreation Center in La Jolla and help make “Too Legit to Kick” this year’s Kickball Champions!
