San Diego, CA / January 8, 2013 – ACI Specialty Benefits CORE Wellness program is proud to kick off the Year of the Family, making family health a priority in 2013.  From playing fun, active games to building healthy gardens at home, the CORE Wellness team has planned a full year of family health initiatives, education and activities to get all family members on board with wellness.

“Based on findings that health begins at the family level, Year of the Family is designed to provide parents with the education, tools and resources needed to make healthy choices and stay active as a family,” says ACI’s CORE Wellness Director Alison Viebrock.

Starting in January, ACI CORE Wellness clients will receive Year of the Family monthly features, projects, tips, tricks, trackers, challenges and reward systems to encourage healthy living for the whole family.  January’s Year of the Family theme is “Commit to Be Fit,” with resources and tools on how to create, track and achieve family health goals.

In order to kick off the family fun, employees can sign up and be entered in a raffle to win one of two great prizes. The “Family Adventure Pack” is perfect for a family picnic outing and loaded with snack recipes and family games like Catch Phrase! The “Family Fun Night” basket is full of movie tickets, snack tickets, a cozy blanket and personalized popcorn buckets. Simply email askthepros@acieap.com and let ACI CORE Wellness know that the whole family is taking the Commit to Be Fit Challenge.

“From HBO’s popular Weight of the Nation documentary series to First Lady Michelle Obama’s Lets Move! initiative, family health is definitely trending,” add Viebrock.  “ACI’s CORE Wellness team has combed through the latest research, news and findings to share best practices and proven strategies with CORE Wellness clients, employees and family members.”

ACI has created a Year of the Family Landing page for details and information on how the whole family can get started.  Visit http://yotf.acicorewellness.com/ to learn more.
