Regular physical activity is a must for a healthy heart. The American Heart Association recommends at least 150 minutes per week of moderate exercise. Moderate-intensity activities include walking, jogging, swimming and biking. Dividing this amount of exercise into thirty minutes a day, five days a week is an easy goal to remember. If thirty minutes is not a realistic goal, start with ten minutes and slowly work your way up. Try to shift the focus away from time and intensity to moving, getting your heart rate up and having fun. Some exercise is better than no exercise!
