Holiday Tips from ACI Parents

Carols are being sung, lights are being hung, and pumpkin spice everything is back in season. This time of year is supposed to be joyful, but it can be hard to appreciate this “magical” season due to the stress of year-end work deadlines, keeping the kids pacified, and endless holiday shopping and cooking. Here is some insight from ACI parents and grandparents on how to manage stress and stay balanced during the holidays.

“We set a time and day aside to do a project for the holidays and we stick to that no matter what. For example, we planned a Friday night to decorate the house and a Saturday to bake cookies. It makes holiday time more special.” – Tammy Lane-Dillard, Business Lead Developer

“Plan ahead! Make sure to keep an eye out for deals all year long, then hide gifts in a safe place until the holidays roll around. That way you can avoid crowded malls full of last minute shoppers.” – Tandice Tinney, Vice President of Service Operations

“My favorite holiday activity is dinner. We spend time together shopping and preparing dinner as a family. As a working parent, it’s a good opportunity to get help from the kids, and it’s nice to enjoy dinner together!” – Sofia Guzman, Work-Life Manager/Lead Admin

“Remember, it’s about family. Take a deep breath, relax, and enjoy your loved ones.” – Tim Mutrie, Senior Vice President of Marketing/IT
