Quit Smoking During the Great American Smokeout

 

This November 17th, begin the journey to a healthier lifestyle and participate in the Great American Smokeout. Join others around the country and make plans to quit smoking for good.

Benefits of Quitting:

  • 20 minutes after quitting: Heart rate and blood pressure drop.
  • 3 weeks after quitting: Physical symptoms of nicotine addiction end.
  • 1 to 9 months after quitting: Coughing and shortness of breath decrease.
  • Within 5 years of quitting: the chance for cancer of the mouth, throat, esophagus and bladder is cut in half.
  • 10 years after quitting: Risk of dying from lung cancer drops by half.
