Stress Less This Holiday Season

Do you feel like your calendar is jam-packed, while your shopping and to-do list are growing by the minute? While the holidays bring an abundance of joy, they can also bring extra pressure that can negatively impact your health. Holiday weight is not just the pounds, but also the added burden of having everything done in time. Try the stress management tips below to help ease stress this holiday season.

Write it down. Keep a running list of everything you need to get done. By putting it on paper (or typing it digitally), you can free up room in your mind to accomplish a task, instead of worrying about forgetting what it is you have to do.

Take time for yourself. Just because it’s the season of giving does not mean you have to stop giving to yourself. Keep up your morning walking routine, or curl up by the fire with a book. Practicing self-compassion is a great stress-management tool and can help you be your best self for others during the holidays.

Practice gratitude. Studies show that taking time to be grateful every day can increase your happiness levels and satisfaction with life. Try to take time each morning or evening to document something you are grateful for.
