Life is busy, challenging and leaves many feeling spread thin and spent. Before reaching burnout, try to slow down, make healthy changes and focus on self-care.

Start the day off right.

Take the time to make the most of a morning meal by enjoying breakfast without distractions rather than grabbing and going.

Create something.

Slow down and take the time to cook a special dinner, try painting, make a DIY project or find a way to work with your hands.

Clear out the calendar.

A jam‐packed schedule often leads to sleep deprivation and daily exhaustion. Take a hard look at commitments, and try eliminating the non‐essential activities to create more time to relax.

Pick up new habits.

To help get a deeper sleep and feel more energized throughout the day, try turning off all electronics for 30 minutes before bed.

Snack healthier.

A well-balanced and well-timed mini‐meal such as fruit, low‐fat cheese and whole grain crackers is a perfect mid-day treat.

Bring back nap time.

A 15‐20 minute nap can boost mental and physical performance, as well as mood, without interfering with sleep at night.

Burn energy to build it.

Expending energy through any type of physical activity can actually generate more. Just 10 minutes of moderate exercise will leave the body feeling more energized and increase endorphins.

Find gratitude.

Find something to be thankful for each day.
