Wellness Challenge Spotlight: Keri Gutierrez

We’re now nearing the end of the second week of the CORE Wellness Challenge and ACI has received some inspiring news from Wellness Director Alison Glenn—ACI has lost a total of 88 pounds! Apparently those team walks at lunch, tri-weekly onsite yoga classes and post-work workouts are really paying off.

ACI Provider Relations and Training Specialist Keri Gutierrez getting candid with an oversized healthy treat!

We sat down with Provider Relations and Training Specialist Keri Gutierrez to inquire about her own personal thoughts and aspirations regarding the CORE Wellness Challenge:

ACI: What are you most excited about?

KG: I am really excited about boosting my motivation to get healthy! I personally have been on the “weight loss” bandwagon for quite some time, and introducing new and exciting ideas/ways of staying healthy is a key part of keeping me motivated – this challenge and my team is doing that for me!

ACI: Why did you join the CORE Wellness challenge?

KG: For the past 2+ years, I have been struggling with my weight –-I wanted this to be another kick start to my weight loss that would also help me focus on overall health, not just the weight loss alone! I am learning that weight loss and getting healthy is a journey, not a destination.

ACI: What’s your favorite part of CORE Wellness Online so far?

KG: The awareness of what I am doing (being able to track my fruits, vegetables, water intake and exercise) to boost better health. I never really knew how much water I drank in a day. Tracking has helped me realize that I don’t drink enough, and helped me drink my daily recommended intake.

ACI: Toughest part of week 1?

KG: Getting the recommended intake of water on a daily basis!

ACI: In your opinion—who does the award for ‘most team spirit’ go to so far?

KG: My team, “Rock Your Body!” We have all been able to help motivate and encourage each other which boosts our team spirit!
