Research suggests that practicing self-compassion can contribute to positive outcomes in multiple dimensions of wellness including physical, emotional, and social wellness. Self-compassion can boost levels of oxytocin (a heart-protective hormone), reduce stress, and enhance interpersonal relationships. Begin to experience the healing benefits of self-compassion today by practicing the following for a few minutes each day:

 

1) Lie down or take a seat in a comfortable position.

2) Practice mindful breathing by becoming aware of your breath.

3) Quietly repeat the following phrases:

May I be safe
May I be well
May I be happy
May I live with ease
