How to Prevent Overstuffing

Many people look forward to an extravagant feast on Thanksgiving. Instead of overindulging in high-calorie foods, enjoy all the best foods without going overboard this year. The following tips will assure that the only thing being “stuffed” on Thanksgiving is the turkey (or Tofurky).

Eat breakfast. Don’t starve before the Thanksgiving meal. Being too hungry will lead to overeating later on.

Be active. Burn calories before the Thanksgiving meal at a local Thanksgiving Day Run/Walk, or do something active with the family like a round of touch football.

Drink a lot of water. Drink water before and during the big meal to reduce hunger without adding extra calories.

Stick to small portions. It is still possible to indulge in holiday favorites by enjoying them in small portions. Try sharing dessert or splitting a dinner roll with someone else.
